Welcome to Nnyonyi Magazine. A quarterly publication that will regularly inform and engage stakeholders of the country’s Airports and related operations.

Nnyonyi comes at a time when Entebbe International Airport is handling close to two million international passengers. A time when a new special purpose airport is under construction in Hoima. A time when the national carrier is back in the skies.

By strengthening the UCAA Act, government is redefining the development rhythm for the aviation industry in Uganda. These and other developments will require a platform that tells the story. A story of the people that make it happen.

For instance , the perceived heroism and glamour of air transport is often associated with cockpit crew. Little is attributed to the Airport ground staff. The army of baggage handlers, flight attendants, meteorologists, air traffic controllers and maintenance crews. These and other men and women constitute the greater mix in the preparation, operation and safe termination of the flight. Which is why the advent of Nnyonyi Magazine is a welcome development for the aviation industry in Uganda, to give them a voice.

That it will be on board flights from Entebbe Airport removes all doubt who Nnyonyi intends to address-airport facility users and passengers. To simplify complex formalities that Airports are normally associated with!

To most passengers, efficiency and comfort of air travel is a package whose benefits are more felt at the check-in, lounge and boarding. Tips on healthy and safe travel are also comfort enhancers. They build a traveler’s confidence. They mitigate the haze in a first-traveler’s mind.

For this and other information, Nnyonyi Magazine finds credence for its publication. I thank those that found it worthy of appearing in, especially, its maiden issue. I trust that you will find the Magazine entertaining and thought-provoking.
