When it comes to golf, Uganda offers some very scenic courses spread across the country, but some stand out as exceptions. Currently there are 17 golf courses, three of which meet internationals standards and have hosted major tournaments. But the uniqueness of Uganda’s golf courses is such that many are easily accessible by air and are in close proximity to national parks, unique geographical features and wildlife reserves.

One of the most exclusive clubs with the highest green fee on weekdays and weekends at UGX100,000 (about USUS$27).
Number of holes: 18 holes, one course.
The course is a par 72 stretching out over 7,200 yards.

Uganda Golf Club

It is located right in the heart of Kampala and it’s playable all years, thanks to the city’s perfect weather. The club boasts of the largest expanse of greenery in the city nestled between Nakasero Hill and Kololo Hill. The many trees act as noise buffers, shielding players from the hustle and bustle that surrounds the course.
The course is renowned for its undulating fairways and the Kitante stream that runs right through the valley to Lake Victoria. The club offers great entertainment and a challenging but fair test for any golfer. Experienced caddies are available offering you the right lines and advice along the way. Measuring 6,732 yards in length from the Blue Tees, with a par of 72, the course remains a firm favourite for all-comers.

Opened in 1901, Entebbe Golf Course is the oldest in East Africa.
The club is a par 71 course with 18 holes and is located in Entebbe along the shores of Lake Victoria. A considerable part of its colonial architecture remains but through the years some redesigning has been done on the clubhouse to offer modern amenities including satellite television. It also offers a well stocked bar, changing rooms with showers, a restaurant for club members and their visitors.
The course has many notable challenges with plenty of overhanging trees and undulating greens.
On several occasions, monkeys have been known to stroll across the greens to add to its attractions or interesting distractions.
